At the end of last season the disappointments at finishing 5^th in the league and losing 9 players in January it was decided that things needed to change both on and off the field so we added Aron Homan and David Comeford to the club's committee and we also brought in a new coach from Thomastown Utd Kevin O Hara to join the coaching team with assistant manager Martin Murray and manager John Conroy .To help the club reach its goal in getting promotion we added a lot of new players to the squad such as Thomas Falsey and Sunny Charles came in from Castlewarren John Honza Egan Craig Murray and Willie Dowling came in from Newpark B Jamie Glennon Trevor Kelly and Richie Shortall came in from Ossory Utd in the floodlit league Trevor Hayes and Steven Short also joined. And we were also delighted to resign Jordan Conroy Karl Jenkins Garry Burke Andre Malinoskwo Piotr Ruth Clifford Dube Stephen Hayes Steven Kelly Stewie Comerford Jason Butler Ryan Butler Patrick Bila and Dara Nelson

Our season kicked off against Stonyford utd in the Pat Maher shield where we lost 5-1. Our first league game was at home in Garringreen against our neighbours and our local derby Ormonde Villa, this would be the first time both clubs met in the league where we ran out 8-1 winners. Our second game was away to clover utd it finished 1-1. Our third game was at home to Deen Celtic B where we won 4-2. Our 4^th game saw Evergreen 46 come to Garringreen where we won 7-1 and our 5ft game we travelled to Stannes and it ended 2-2. Our next match saw a top of the table clash with Castlewarren game 6 which we lost 3-1 Trevor Kelly scored for St Johns in our 7th match we travelled to Paulstown where we won 4-3 our scores were Trevor Kelly (1) Jamie Glennon (1) Karl Jenkins (2) out next match is against Mill Celtic from carlow in the Leinster Junior shield this sunday in garringreen Leinster junior shield

Our goals came from Steven Kelly and Tommy Falsey this was a tough game with both side creating chances Celitc took the lead then shortly after Steven Kelly scored from a free kick to level the game at 1 all then Celtic took the lead again to make it 1-2 Tommy Falsey made it 2-2 shortly come on in the last few mins Celtic got the winner this was a hard fought match between two very good sides it seem like when ever one team scored then they dropped off we would like to wish Mill Celtic all the best in the rest of the tournament and to our own players unlucky lads this game could have gone either way great team effort we seal promition to division 2 on the last game of the season with a 4-0 win over clover b a week later we knock clover b out of the division 3 cup QF in the semi we faced evergreen 46 which we ran out 4-0 winners to go into the cup final for the secound time this time we play castlewarren on the 29th of may in derdimus its been a great seon so far to win the cup would be the our first torphy in the kilkenny & district league and we ould love to get our first bit of silverware
